Saw these delightful candy machines at Bugis+ and a large crowd hovering over a couple who hoped to try their luck at winning an iPhone 4S with some loose change. There was also a Samsung SII up for grabs although no one paid much attention to it as it sat there surrounded by chewy FruitPluses looking sad and unloved. While the authenticity of the phones is debatable; afterall they could turn out to be cheap Chinese knock-offs, however, the fun that comes from winning one of these carnival-esque prizes is certainly priceless. I would know about winning but I'll save that tale for another time. However, I didn't stick around long enough to find out if they did get that iPhone.
A lady standing beside me spoke outloud to her boyfriend and everyone within the Bras Basah Bugis district that she wouldn't mind spending $50 just to try her luck. Be my guest. Go for it lady! I'll get my pom poms out.
On another note, anyone got any plans for the ghostly season this October?
